Past Event: Book Signing with Desmond Bavey

A companion guide to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is Tongariro National Park – an Artist's Field Guide by Desmond Bavey is an exploration of the park's plants, animals and landscapes. With 400 illustrations and an informative but accessible text, Bovey deconstructs the park's amazing landscapes, giving the reader not only scenery but the bones beneath. He describes how the plants and animals fit together and depend upon each other for survival in the often harsh and inhospitable Volcanic Plateau. A field guide of rare quality for this popular park, home to one of the world's most popular walks, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, combining the highest quality of information with superb illustration, a treasure for anyone who loves these wonderful landscapes.

Desmond recently joined us for a book signing evening at Tongariro Junction. During his visit he was able to sign several copies of his book and they are for sale at Naylors Bookstore or you can pick up a copy when you visit us.

Past Event: An evening with the Author, Monty Soutar

It was our pleasure to host Monty recently. We heard his inspirational story about following your gut and using your intuition to shape your life even when you don't know what is ahead. We also learned about the challenges he had as an author as he transitioned from non-fiction writing to fiction.

Monty was gracious enough to sign several copies of his books and they are available for sale at Naylors Bookstore in Turangi Town Centre.
